Community Activities Week 2026
Community Activities Week will take place from Saturday 5th to Sunday 13th September 2026 across the OX3 area, including Barton, Headington, Marston, Northway, Risinghurst, Sandhills and Wood Farm.
The aim of the week is simple: to help more people discover the activities, groups and opportunities already happening in our local community.
Across the week, an online calendar will highlight a wide range of activities taking place locally. Some will be regular sessions that are opening their doors to new participants, while others may be one-off events designed to help people try something new.
Many local groups, clubs and organisations already run fantastic activities every week. Community Activities Week is an opportunity to showcase these activities, welcome new faces and encourage people to get involved.
We know that trying something new can sometimes feel daunting. Some providers may offer introductory sessions or buddy schemes, where regular participants help welcome newcomers and make the first visit easier.
Community Activities Week is not a festival or a centrally organised programme of events. Instead, it brings together activities already happening across the area and makes them easier to find, easier to try, and more visible to the community.
Whether you're looking to meet new people, try a new hobby, get active, find support, or simply explore what’s happening locally, Community Activities Week is a great place to start.
As the full Community Activities Week programme takes shape over the coming months, this page will develop and grow.
Sign up to receive occasional email updates about activities and events as we confirm these in the coming weeks, building towards our full Community Activities Week programme ahead of September.
There's so much more to come - why not stay in touch?
