Christmas Fun Day

This Christmas initiative was started in 1997 by the Headington Business Association (HBA). In the first year, it simply comprised a Thursday late-night opening of the local shops; but over the next four years it developed into a major event in the Headington calendar, with all sections of the local community taking part.
In association with the Fun Day, Headington had its first Christmas lights in the year 2000. These have been added to each year.
In 2002 the Headington Christmas Fun Day and lights was a joint initiative of the HBA and Headington Action. Since then Headington Action has continued to be involved.
