What We Do

​Headington Action:

• Created and oversees the Headington Market
• Organizes the The Headington Festival
• Instigated the Headington Neighbourhood Plan
• Looks after the Central Headington community notice boards
• Provides grants under the Small Sparks Scheme as well as Community Grants. Click on the links for further details.
• Supports the Headington Live Advent Calendar

It also:

• Works with Headington businesses to organize Christmas lights
• Liaises regularly with the City Council with ideas for improving the area and responds to consultations
• Organize hanging baskets for Headington
• Supports European Car-free day in September each year (see film of an event in 2006), and has made a leaflet showing a walk to Oxford. This can be downloaded from this link, and further details on the walk found here.

In the past, Headington Action:

• Created the Storybook Tree in Bury Knowle Park
• Helped the launch of Low Carbon Headington
• Helped the launch of the Headington and Marston Neighbourhood Forum
• Supported the Christmas FunDay
• Took an interest in the maintenance of Bury Knowle Park until the Friends of Bury Knowle Park were launched
• Organized a festival of street parties in Headington
• Painted the former Headington  subway
• Highlighted the poor cycling facilities of Headington
• Brought out an OX3 Guide in 2006 and 2008
• Made the path behind Headington car park safer
• Provided “Small Sparks” grants to various bodies including the Ruskin Crinkle Crankle Club and the Friends of Bury Knowle Park
