Give Tennis a try with GO ACTIVE Women Only Coached tennis Sessions. No experience necessary, all abilities and fitness levels welcome, classes are for absolute beginners so you can try tennis with the support of a coach.

Aerial Arts (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, various times)

Studio 2 is a community for learning, practicing and sharing Aerial Arts.​ There is a schedule of classes including Trapeze and Aerial Silks for Children and Adults in a range of abilities.​ 
Aerial arts is a total body workout that builds strength and flexibility but we don’t expect each student to have these already, that is what we build together!
Kids (8-16 years) /Teen (13-17 years) classes classes typically run in courses (usually 5-6 weeks) which try to coincide with school terms and take into account major public holidays.

Barton Health Walk (Thursday 14:00-15:00)

Health Walks are free, gentle walks (typically 30-60 minutes) taken at a pace suitable for all. No need to book. Meet outside Barton Neighbourhood Centre, where you’ll be able to meet the Health Walk Leader who will ask you to fill in a form. You’re then free to attend any health walks. No special walking gear needed, just wear shoes and clothes you’re happy to walk in! Everyone’s welcome! A great way to meet new people, while getting some gentle exercise.

Bereavement Support Walk (1st Monday of month, 14:00-15:30)

Run by Age UK, this is a local walk - more of a stroll and not at a fast pace. There are various locations but walks begin at a central meeting point in Oxford, with the location chosen in advance usually at the previous meeting. Talk to Sarah if you want to know if this group is right for an individual and she would be happy to talk it through.

Bury Knowle Health Walk (Friday 10:00)

Meet outside the library. 
Walks are at a gentle pace and lead by qualified Walking for Health leaders. Walks typically last 30-60 minutes and cover 1-3 miles. Most walks finish at a local café to give you a chance to catch up with other walkers over a hot drink.

Headington Youth Football Club

Headington Youth FC, are an FA Charter Standard football club, based in Risinghurst. (Boys: U8 Yellow, U8 Blue, U10, U11, U12, U13 Blue, U13 Yellow, U14, U15, U21 Girls: U10, U12, U13 Yellow, U13 Blue and U18 teams). All teams have a coach who holds a minimum of an F.A Level 1 certificate, which includes First Aid and Safeguarding Children qualifications and all have completed a FA DBS check.

Children from the age of 6 are welcome (boys and girls) who wish to develop their football skills in a safe and friendly environment and be part of a team.

Hip-Hop Dance Classes (Monday term-time 16:30-17:30 or 17:45-18:45)

Dance classes for young people aged 5-16. Classes are a fantastic opportunity to learn new dance skills, boost confidence and meet new people. Sessions are led by experienced instructors from Body Politic who work hard to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel empowered. 
Hip Hop Dance Classes run in term-time on Monday evenings at Barton Park Primary School.

Mixed group of sociable runners of all abilities and ages. Trained leaders help and encourage you to start running and get the amazing health benefits of regular gentle exercise. 9:30 jog for around 5km; 10:30 start by walking and build up gently to running.

Silver Shakers (Monday 10:15-11:15)

Silver Shakers is an inclusive group of men and women (aged 50+) who enjoy coming together to dance, socialize, and have fun. Each week there is a dance session for an hour and then time for a cup of tea and a catch up. The dance sessions are designed for people of all physical abilities and are fun, creative and good for your health. All exercises can be done seated or standing and can be taken at your own pace.

Zumba (Various)

Seated Zumba (Wednesday 11:00-11:30)
15min seated Zumba & 15min resistance training with bands. All low impact and done seated. Followed by a cup of coffee. The class is aimed at anyone who prefers or needs to exercise sitting down (for various reasons, injuries or medical conditions etc. that prohibit them from standing, or confidence), and can also be beneficial for people with dementia. It's a light hearted and fun class with no pressure.
