Bogstars talks (2nd Friday of month 14:00-15:15, term time only)

The BogStars is the name of a group of people who meet monthly at the Bullingdon Community Centre (term time only) on the second Friday of each month, after the community lunches. After lunch there is tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit and the opportunity to stay on and hear a talk by an invited guest, or maybe a demonstration.

The talks usually finish around 3.15pm and are free but sometimes a small donation may be asked, from those who can afford it, to cover speakers' costs.

City of Oxford Choir (Monday (term time only) 19:30-21:30)

An auditioning chamber choir of amateur singers, performing modern and traditional choral music. The Choir is committed to performing to a high standard, and therefore expect members to attend rehearsals regularly, to be able to sight-read, and to spend some time outside rehearsal learning music as necessary.

A chance to get to know people over a delicious, homecooked two course meal at noon for only £5!
The lunch club is run every Tuesday (term time) and is an opportunity for those aged 55 or over in the community to gather together. You can get to know people whilst enjoying a delicious home cooked meal for just £5!
The lunch is followed by an hour in the coffee lounge, with various activities including quizzes and sing-alongs.

"Crafty Crafters" Craft Club at Risinghurst URC (Thursday 10:00-13:00)

The URC are running a weekly craft club every Thursday 10am-1pm, where like-minded crafters can meet together, share tips, and have fun exploring new activities. Light refreshments are provided. Children may attend but should be accompanied by an adult and remain the adult's responsibility at all times.

Film Night (last Friday of the month from 18:30)

Doors open at 18:30 and the film will start at 19:00.
Run by volunteers on the last Friday of every month, just turn up (no booking needed) and meet new people, relax, laugh and eat popcorn! There is a snack bar to buy reasonably priced drinks, sweets and snacks. Keep an eye on the Facebook page, website, notice board and Downside Shops window for information on what film will be shown.

Gouter Club Headington (Friday 10:30-12:30 term time only)

Light Bite (Term-time Thursday 13:00-14:00)

Light Bite is open to people over 50 for a light lunch (jacket potatoes with various fillings, and puddings). After the meal guests stay to chat, or sometimes there is a short activity. 
Light Bite is a ministry of Headington Baptist Church, run by a team of volunteers from church, so once a month there is an informal Songs of Praise service, but anyone is welcome regardless of their faith position, and most guests are not connected with the church.

Manor Wellbeing Walk (Thursday 13:00-14:00)

The Walk is led by a Health and Wellbeing Coach and is a great opportunity to get some fresh air and gentle exercise, and to meet new people. All ages and abilities welcome, it is a gentle walk and talk

Model Railway Club (Tuesday 19:00)

A social and active group of modellers and enthusiasts at all levels, with interests ranging from Z Gauge to Live Steam in Gauge 1, and covering all manner of subjects from the ever-popular Great Western to overseas railways.

As well as building and running trains, the club hosts annual Exhibitions.

Seven O'Clock Club (Tuesday 19:00-21:00)

A social club for those with learning disabilities. Oxford & District Mencap is an independent local voluntary organisation, supporting people with a learning disability, and their families, who live in the Oxford area. They are affiliated to, but financially independent from Mencap, the national learning disability charity.

Services include a social club on Tuesday evenings in Oxford, family events and various summer holiday options.

Studio Theatre Club (Monday & Thursday 19:30-21:00)

A friendly and informal group who enjoy each other’s company and love rehearsing and staging plays.
There are no auditions. If you come along and like what you see, you’re in.
Plays are cast on the basis of informal readings. We also meet socially, for pub nights, meals, movie nights, cinema/theatre trips. But of course, ‘the play’s the thing’....

Thursday Lunch Club (1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 12:00-14:00)

A two course home cooked lunch for older people who live alone in the Headington area. Before lunch, from about 12.00 guests are served drinks and nibbles, lunch is served at 12:30 and after lunch there is tea or coffee and chocolates. The guests have a free raffle and sometimes there is a short musical entertainment.

There are a number of jobs for helpers: putting out furniture, setting tables, providing flowers, greeting and serving guests, cooking, washing up and driving. The driving is greatly appreciated by those who are mobility impaired and find it difficult to get around.  There is a rota and most people help once a month.
