The Scheme Six traffic filters – designed to reduce traffic, make bus journeys faster and make walking and cycling safer – will be trialled in Oxford after improvement works to Oxford railway station are complete. The decision was made by the county council’s cabinet on 29 November 2022. The decision follows extensive engagement with more than a hundred local businesses, organisations and community groups, including bus companies, hospitals, schools and universities. This year’s Headington Festival on 3 and 4 June was a roaring success. We had our largest ever attendance, with estimates of up to 8000 people over the two days. Headington Action has appointed Joe Bastin as market manager in place of Ewan Tilbe. Ewan has departed to take up a full-time job as retail manager of a West Country animal sanctuary. Joe will be familiar to regular shoppers at the market. He runs the cheese stall, Deli at No 5.
